To have been posted to Canberra Secondary School proved to be the beginning of the most exciting and challenging phases of my life.
Since its inception 9 years ago, Canberra Secondary School strived to be the best.
The once small and not so recognised school have grown and been nurtured into a reputable Autonomous one in Sembawang.
Throughout my 4 years of education here, I have been given the opportunity to witness the growth and blossoming of the school.
Ideas after ideas, achievements after achievements.
I looked forward to having an enriching and fruitful 4-year learning experience and i consider myself largely priviledged to have been given the golden opportunity to make up a small yet significant part of the Canberra family, as she sets herself to strive for greater successes and continue accomplishing what she has always promised - in providing a well-rounded education of quality.
Canberra Secondary School has since marked her success with numerous recognitions of distinction and it is definitely not difficult to understand why.

Amongst the many wonderful things that had happened to me in Canberra Secondary School, were the friendships that i had forged with my buddies in school.
School would have been a very dull place without the laughter and tears i shared together with them.
Be it through in-class activities or CCA interaction, I felt that these were effective and genuine channels for friendships to be built.
It was only a matter of time till i realize that the friends whom i had made throughout these four years would go on to be the ones for life.
Even when the going got tough and coping with the pressures from all aspects of life seemed so difficult, these testing times only served to strengthen our friendships and trust for one another.
Although none of us expected our school education to be smooth sailing, having made it through goes to show how important my friends were in comforting and motivating me.
Without them, school would not have been like a home to me.

The teachers, too, had always been my source of inspiration and strength.
They were certainly one of the most influential groups of people in my life - leading me not just through mere words, but also more importantly, with their actions.
They were a group of hardworkers who constantly placed in the effort to impart their skills and knowledge, in the most interesting and creative manner.
The teachers showered us with concern and guidance, spurring the students on as we raced towards the finishing line of our secondary school life.
I still remember so vividly how teachers like Mr Lathif, my Mathematics teacher, took the time off our lessons sometimes to inspire us and get us back on the right track.
Some of the wonderful things he shared would most probably be the "brickwall theory" and the most recent "meanings to achievements".
He taught us deligently how to be competitive academically and yet at the same time be a better person as a whole.
My English teacher, Mrs Lee, made lessons come to life with her spontaneity and humour.
Of course not to mention our ever amiable and bubbly Additional Mathematics teacher and cohort manager, Mr Ng, who would regenerate our never-say-die spirit and constantly motivate us to strive for the best.
In short, the teachers were always there for us when we needed them.

At times, they can be very fun and bubbly people too, participating in games against students and putting up performances for us on various school occasions too.
As such, it is little wonder why students and teachers in Canberra Secondary School enjoyed such a good rapport and strong relationship.

I too would have to thank our sporty and athletic Principal and Vice-Principal, for allowing Canberra Secondary School to exude her full potential and ensuring students that we have a second home.
Their combined efforts with the teachers had breathed in life and hope into our school, allowing her to soar to greater heights and achieve greater achievements.

To say that Canberra Secondary School has greatly affected her students in all positive ways would have been an understatement.
Canberra Secondary is a place where the young learn about life; about values and moral values; about strength and perseverance; about gratitude and forgiveness.
All these would never have been possible without the combined effort of both the teachers and students.
Canberra Seconday School was where i found new beautiful friendships, experienced my most difficult moments and learnt meaningful values that would guide me throughout my life.
It was where i discovered my true potential.

It has been and will always be, the place of boundless opportunities - where dreams are made true and where the sky is the limit.
The embark on a difficult yet worthwhile journey of 4 years has definitely been a memorable one - one that will be hard to relinquish.
Into her 10th year, I believe that Canberra Secondary would continue to make further breakthroughs in all fields of education, surpassing the best and scale yet greater heights!
